This unique piece was hand carved using the lost wax casting technique. A cast of the web-shaped pieces was made and six parts were soldered using tube articulations. The "itsy-bitsy" spider is part of the clasp mechanism. It weighs in at about 150g.

After three long years and 50 hour weeks, I finally graduated from l'Ecole de Joaillerie de Montreal in April of 2008. The above piece was a study in articulated tube closures encompassing wax sculpting, casting, and many, many hours of painstaking polishing.
